The STN Fall Challenge!

Hey Everyone! The last week of the quarter is coming up, and so is the STN, or the Student Television Network, Fall Challenge! If you don't know what the fall challenge is, it's kind of like the STN convention. It's a 6 day competition where a small team of up to four students work together to create a news/feature story, or a PSA, which is a new category this year. It seems really difficult, and I think I'd like to try it out this year. For this week's constructed response, I will be sharing three reasons why I'd like to take part in the fall challenge. I'd like to do the STN Fall Challenge because I want to be challenged, I've never done it before, and because it's good preparation for the convention.
The first reason why I'd like to do the Fall Challenge is because I would like to be 'challenged'. This year, the challenge will be from October 16th to the 21st. By the looks of it, I think this is during a school week. By then, we would have started on our second quarter projects and have work from other classes. I have heard from past students who have done the challenge, that they stay up until midnight, working on their stories, using up their time wisely. As this seems stressful and hard, it is always good to challenge yourself. It tests your limits, and it makes you work under pressure and under a time restraint. Many people, including myself, tend to panic under pressure, and especially while on a deadline. However, that isn't very good, or helpful to your teammates. So by challenging myself, I can try to work on staying calm to meet the challenge.
The second reason why I'd like to do the Fall Challenge is because I have never done it before. Last year, I wasn't on island for the challenge, so I wish I've chosen to try to do the challenge when I was in sixth grade. Being that I have not done the challenge before, it will be a very new and learning experience. With every project you've ever created, you learn that you could have done something better, and essentially, you are given knowledge so that you can learn from your mistakes the next time. If I participate in the challenge, I can receive more constructive criticism to better my future work. Also, since I am an eighth grader, it is my last year in CKTV. I'd like to try the challenge because I am given the opportunity now.
The third reason why I'd like to do the Fall Challenge is because it is good preparation for the STN Convention. As I mentioned in the beginning, the Fall Challenge is similar to the convention. It will force you to work in a group with others, cooperating and collaborating to get a good story cranked out under a time limit. Maybe you might disagree or have different ideas, but you need to compromise and learn to work together. This is just like what will happen at the convention. I'd like to try the Fall Challenge because it prepares you for what the convention will be like.
In summary, I'd like to take part in this year's STN Fall Challenge because I want to challenge myself, I haven't done it before, and because it is a good preparation for the STN Convention. The Fall Challenge, although seemed stressful and hard, also seems like fun and very helpful. Whether I'll be put on the team or not, I hope you all take a chance to try it if you want to. Well, that is it for this week's constructed response! Thanks for reading! Bye!

I agree with your second paragraph when you say that it's good to test your limits. "Sometimes we have to go beyond our comfort zone to realize what it really is."
