Stress!

Stress. We're all bound to be stressed at times. This week, in particular, has had me more stressed than usual. From today, our STN trip is in two days! I'm in the midst of packing, and there's still a lot more to be done! For this week's constructed response, I will be talking about what causes me stress. Being a middle school student, there is not a lot to be stressed about. Therefore, most of my stress revolves around school.
School can be stressful, especially if you're a big procrastinator like me. I admit, If I didn't procrastinate, most of my stress could have been easily avoided. For example, yesterday, the eighth graders took our algebra final which really stressed me out. I was quite nervous, and still am, as I wait for my results. That final counts as 50% of our quarter grade, which is contributing to high school. It was nerve wracking to prepare and study for it, which again, is my fault. I got my index card early, yet I decided to wait until the last moment to do it. Ms. Chiba came to school and let us take our final on Saturday from 8 to 12 (Thanks again Ms. Chiba!). Despite the whole week I had with the index card, I only started it on Friday night and finished it on Saturday near 3 in the morning. Then, I had to get up 3 hours later to actually get ready to take the final! That whole stressful situation could have been avoided if I didn't procrastinate. Besides math, other classes can bring pressure and worry. Nearing the end of the quarter, a lot of important tests are coming up and a lot of work is piling up. More so that we will be gone during the last week of school.
One class in particular is stressful. It's my favorite class of them all, but also the one with the most work. Media. This will be my third year as a student in the CKTV class, and I love it. I get to learn and experience things that no other class can offer. Media covers them all! From life lessons to writing to speaking and communicating, in my opinion, media has made me a better student. This class has definitely taught me about the importance of deadlines. We have deadlines in everything, radios, blogs, and a lot throughout our projects. Despite the work and difficult situations at times, I'd do it all over again!
What do I do to relieve the stress from school? To alleviate stress, my direct go to is music. I love listening to music on Spotify and jamming through work that needs to get done. I find that if I don't listen to music, it takes much longer to get things done, and in a more negative attitude, too. Music boosts my attitude and makes you full of adrenaline. Or if I have the time, I'll usually take a break to watch an episode on Netflix or play the piano. I find both activities calming and they both help ease the stress. One known method to relieve stress is to always think positive. With a positive mind, no matter how bad the situation may be, positivity always beats negativity.
Overall, stress can occur to anyone. For me, school work including media, is the thing that stresses me out the most. "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor" Sometimes we all need stress in life to push us to our greatest limits to succeed! Take media as an example. One of my favorite classes, but can be stressful. To calm myself during a stressful situation, I listen to music and think positive. How about you? Well, that is it for this week's constructed response! Thanks for reading! Bye!

I am glad that all your work payed off. You did very well on your final, but perhaps you know your area of weakness you need to work on...your procrastination...Take may advise work on this now while you are young...it will only get worse if you wait until you are older to start doing things early. : )
