Family Night 2015

Hey Everyone! If you've went to the Family Night last year, you probably remember it as the class sharing a bunch of videos and giving a speech. Well, that's pretty much exactly it! CKTV's annual family night is coming up, where each individual person will be sharing their video that they think shows their best work. For this week's constructed response, I will be sharing the video I'd like to share at Family Night this year. I'd like to show the second quarter project I've created with my partner, Herenui Punua, because I feel it showed my best work all year. I think this because it had a good story, we put in a lot of hard work, and it was chosen for Hiki Nō.
The first reason why I think Lanakila Kitchen is my best work is because it had a good story. I found out about Lanakila Kitchen from reading the Garden Island Newspaper. It was mentioned a few months back. The story was about this Kitchen, named "Victory Kitchen" that was a training facility for people with challenged lives or disabilities. I thought this was such a good story and that everyone should know about this. I've never really had a story that was emotional or deep, and so I like this one because it is. I want to show this video at family night because everyone should be aware of this story.
The second reason why I think Lanakila Kitchen shows my best work is because Herenui and I put in a lot of work into it. We went back to Lanakila Kitchen multiple times to shoot more. In our first quarter project, we didn't really shoot our b-roll in sequences. I think we've improved very much in our second quarter project because we actually shot our b-roll in sequences, with variations in the angles and composition. Not only during production did it go better, but also while in post-production while editing. In our first quarter project, we made lots of editing mistakes. But in our Lanakila Kitchen story, we made sure we checked each shot. We fixed the crooked shots, color-corrected, and put the story together while making lots of revisions. I want to show this video at family night because we both put in a lot of effort into it.
The third reason why I think Lanakila Kitchen shows my best work is because it was aired on Hiki Nō. I am pretty proud of both Herenui and myself for this. This was my first story on Hiki Nō, so it was a big achievement in my opinion. I am very lucky and grateful to be able to be accepted into their broadcast. I would mention this in my speech at Family Night. I want to show this video at family night because it aired on Hiki Nō.
In conclusion, I plan on showing this video at Family night because it had a good story, we put in a lot of effort into it, and finally, it aired on Hiki Nō. I've already discussed this with Herenui, and she's okay with it. That's it for my blog! Thanks for reading! Bye!
